On May 12, an investor downloaded my business plan and CV and same day he called to ask some questions about the business Plan. Three days later we met at a neutral place to discuss the business plan in detail. He left saying he was going on holiday and he would study the plan more. While still on holiday, he make an offer to invest the full amount of £40,000 which I obviously accepted. To be honest, I got more than I hoped for through the network . While I was hoping to get a handful of angels to invest at least £2,500 each in the company, I ended up with just one angel who invested the whole amount required. Incidentally, after accepting the offer, I received another offer today from another angel offering to invest half of the required investment, but I had to turn the second offer down. I had a great idea with the passion and determination to make it happen, but no matter how hard I tried to raise capital nobody would back me. Through their network Tankformator managed to interest an investor in Tankformator's business plan and the launch of its disruptive innovation that is expected to find market demand worldwide. Capital is key in the development of any start up and the one thing most difficult to secure, but here the Angel investment Network was instrumental to bring us together with this investor. One of the things we learned from Angel Investment Network is to draft a concise proposal comprising summary, pitch, head lines and the deal. This took some getting used to but they were right. As entrepreneurs, our passion may have us write long essays describing the virtues of our business going forward, but the bottom line simply is, that such exceeds the average investors' boredom threshold.
