Professional background

Pre 2000:
Qualified electrical/ electronic engineer.
Via promotion moved to Plant / Engineering manager of a large print company, then promoted again to Manufacturing Director responsible for all production (still in print), approx 180 staff.

From 2000:
I was employed as managing director of a UK subsidiary of a German capital equipment machine producer (Gammerler AG).
In 2008, I became part part-owner of the UK company and became an agent for additional capital equipment manufacturers. I am responsible for finding new customers, maintaining/supporting existing customers, contract negotiation and management, and project management (the biggest project is around a million). I also manage all tasks related to running SME, HR, cash flow (with credit and exchange rate risk), risk/insurance, etc.
I became the full owner in 2018 and created an opportunity to sell the business in 2021 (vendor-managed buy-out). I continued working 3 days per week until 2023 for handover, and since then, ad hoc in an advisory role.
